Profile
Andrew Pollock has recently returned from a four-year term in our Beijing office. Before going to China, he was a member of the Securities Group at Blakes where he worked on a range of transactions, including mergers and acquisitions and debt and equity offerings.
During his time in Beijing, Andrew continued his corporate practice with a China focus. He was involved in acting on behalf of Canadian and other clients wishing to engage in foreign direct investment in China by way of mergers and acquisitions, and the establishment of Greenfield foreign-invested enterprises and representative offices.
Recent transactions include the sale of an equity interest in a Chinese joint venture by the non-Chinese equity holder to a U.S. purchaser and the establishment of a Canadian company, which engaged in a private placement and used the proceeds thereof to purchase an equity interest in a Chinese wholly domestically owned company. Andrew is continuing his corporate practice in Canada, with a focus on China-related matters.
