About Caitlin

Caitlin is an Associate who regularly acts on complex mandates involving insolvency litigation, financial restructurings and debt enforcement, in addition to providing more general insolvency advice. She has represented debtors, monitors, receivers, secured creditors, debtor-in-possession lenders and additional clients in both formal insolvency proceedings and out-of-court restructurings. Caitlin has developed specific expertise in cross-border mandates, having recently acted on some of Canada’s largest cross-border files. She routinely provides advice on complex, multi-jurisdictional issues.

  • syncreon Group B.V. and its Canadian affiliates in the cross-border balance sheet restructuring of C$1.1-billion of funded debt (logistics)

  • The auditor in the CannTrust restructuring proceedings (cannabis/class action securities litigation)

  • The purchaser in the CCAA proceeding of BioSteel Sports Nutrition Inc (manufacturing/retail)

  • The court-appointed monitor in the insolvency proceedings of JTI-Macdonald Corp. involving over C$600-billion of claims asserted against the tobacco industry (manufacturing)

  • The debtors in the plenary CCAA proceedings of Carillion Canada Inc., Carillion Construction Inc., Canada Holdings Inc., Carillion Canada Finance Corp. and Carillion Pacific Construction Inc. (construction and services)

  • The receiver and construction lien trustee in the Urbancorp receivership proceedings (construction)
