About Christine

Christine's practice focuses primarily on mergers, acquisitions and divestitures and project development within the oil and gas and renewable energy industries. She has been involved in a broad range of transactions for private and public entities, including domestic and cross border M&A transactions, share and asset purchase and sale transactions, joint ventures, pipeline and midstream facility development and commercial arrangements and corporate reorganizations.

Christine has significant experience advising clients with general corporate and commercial matters and all aspects of conventional and unconventional oil and gas matters, including liquefied natural gas (including all project development agreements and LNG offtake arrangements).  She also advises on pipeline and other midstream project matters, including storage and crude by rail terminals, share and asset purchase and sale transactions and reorganizations.

Christine also has an active technology practice, assisting start-up technology companies (in various stages) with various commercial transactions (including mergers, acquisition and divestitures), private equity and venture capital investments, licensing and general commercial matters.

She has a strong working knowledge of French, Cantonese and Mandarin.

Christine is co-head of the Firm's Corporate Commercial group in Calgary.

Recent representative matters include advising:

  • Coastal GasLink Pipeline Limited Partnership in its negotiation of revised agreements with LNG Canada to allow for the continued execution of the approximately C$11.2-billion pipeline project

  • PrairieSky Royalty in the C$728-million acquisition of 1.9-million acres of royalty lands in Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba from Heritage Royalty

  • Cenovus Energy Inc. in the approximately C$800-million sale of its Tucker thermal oilsands project in Northeast Alberta to Strathcona Resources

  • Jupiter Resources Ltd. in its approximately C$630-million sale to Tourmaline Oil Corp.

  • TC Energy Corporation on the sale of an 85% equity interest in Northern Courier Pipeline to AIMCo and, in conjunction with the sale, the financing of long-term, non-recourse debt, with approximate aggregate gross proceeds to TC Energy of C$1.15-billion

  • Suncor Energy Inc. on its investment in Enerkem Inc., a Canadian biofuel technology company

  • Kinder Morgan on its 50-50 joint venture crude by rail facility located in Sherwood Park, Alberta, as well as various project development matters

  • Husky Energy on its C$1.7-billion sale of 65% of certain midstream assets to Cheung Kong Infrastructure Holdings Limited and Power Assets Holdings Limited
