Blakes Wins GTA Top Employers Award

Blake, Cassels & Graydon LLP (Blakes) is honoured to be named among the Greater Toronto’s Top Employers 2021. We are delighted to have received this recognition 10 times since 2007.

Workplaces are evaluated based on criteria, including work atmosphere; health, financial and family benefits; vacation and time off; employee communications; performance management; training and skills development; and community involvement.

In response to the impact of COVID-19, Blakes quickly transitioned to a remote-working structure and implemented programs and supports for all employees. The Firm increased communications to keep everyone informed and quickly rolled out tools to help teams across the Firm stay connected. Our approach included creative integration of the summer law students, coop students and new hires throughout the pandemic. The Blakes team rallied to transcend challenges and welcome all new Firm members into the collegial and supportive environment that makes us Blakes.

This year, the Firm focused on the needs of our communities and strengthened our commitment to providing pro bono legal advice to those in need. We worked with Pro Bono Ontario, the Canadian Civil Liberties Association and Pro Bono Students Canada, among many others.

More than anything, this award reflects our commitment to continuing to live by our core values: creativity, integrity, diversity and passion for excellence. We will continue our efforts to provide a safe and supportive community to every member of the Blakes team.
