Lara Friedlander Appointed as a Judge of the Tax Court of Canada

Blake, Cassels & Graydon LLP (Blakes) is pleased to announce that Lara Friedlander, a Partner in the Firm’s Tax group, has been appointed as a judge of the Tax Court of Canada. 

Lara brings more than 25 years of experience to her new role. She has advised major Canadian and international financial institutions and other clients on the income tax aspects of transactions ranging from capital markets products to corporate finance and pension plan investments. Beyond private practice, her distinguished career includes significant contributions at the Canada Revenue Agency and a tenure as vice-president of tax planning and advisory at one of Canada’s largest banks.

Her expertise has been widely recognized in leading publications such as ITR World Tax and The Canadian Legal Lexpert Directory.
