Blakes is proud to announce that Navin Joneja, a Partner in the Firm’s Competition, Antitrust & Foreign Investment group, has been appointed Chair of the Competition Law Section of the Canadian Bar Association for 2020/21.
“Navin’s appointment reflects his leadership in the area of competition law and policy in Canada and his exceptional legal career to date,” said Brian Facey, Chair of the Blakes Competition, Antitrust & Foreign Investment group and a former Chair of the Competition Law Section. “He will guide the close relationship with the Competition Bureau and lead the direction of legal education for the Canadian competition law bar in Canada and abroad at this critical time. His experience and insights will also be available to our clients and colleagues.“
Blakes is invested in the development and progression of the Competition Law Section of the CBA: Kevin MacDonald, Partner, is the incoming Chair of the Marketing Practices Committee; Cassandra Brown, Partner, is the incoming Vice-Chair of the International Committee; and David Dueck, Associate, is the incoming Chair of the Economics and Law Committee.
