Southmount Properties Inc. et al. and Victoria Avenue North Holdings Inc. - Counsel to the receiver in receivership proceedings over a ten parcels of land throughout Ontario totaling over 20 acres and 381,000 square feet in nine medical office buildings.

Square Candiac Restructuring – Counsel to the monitor in the restructuring of Square Candiac, a C$600-million real estate development located on the Montréal South Shore.

Carillion Canada Group – Counsel to the Carillion Canada group on all aspects of its Canada-wide restructuring efforts, following the U.K. liquidation proceedings of its ultimate parent, Carillion plc. Blakes assisted Carillion in selling its various businesses, including business support services, roads maintenance and interests in private public partnerships.

St. Michael’s Hospital – Counsel to the receiver in the receivership proceedings of 2442931 Ontario Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Bondfield Construction and its project company in connection with the St. Michael’s Hospital redevelopment project located in Toronto.

Urbancorp (Leslieville) Developments Inc. – Counsel to the receiver and construction lien trustee of Urbancorp (Leslieville) Developments Inc., Urbancorp (The Beach) Developments Inc. and Urbancorp (Riverdale) Developments Inc., which were engaged in the development, construction and sale of residential properties in Toronto, including a partially completed residential development consisting of 56 residential homes, known as the Leslieville Project.

Trump Hotel and Condominium Tower – Counsel to the purchaser of the Trump Hotel and Condominium Tower in Toronto in its receivership proceedings. The project consisted of 261 hotel condominium units and 118 residential condominium units in the heart of Toronto.

MRMA Commercial Real Estate Holdings Group – Counsel to the secured lender in the receivership proceedings of MRMA Commercial Real Estate Holdings Group, which operated properties, including a Microtel hotel property outside of Red Deer, Alberta.

First Leaside Group – Counsel to the monitor and receiver in the Companies’ Creditors Arrangement Act (CCAA) proceedings and subsequent receivership of the First Leaside Group, an organization of corporations and limited partnerships that operated numerous businesses, including multiple limited partnerships that owned residential rental properties, retirement homes and real estate developments in Canada and the U.S.

Clayton Construction Co. Ltd. – Counsel to the receiver in the receivership of Clayton Construction Co. Ltd., a construction company to oil and gas producers that conducted construction activities on oil and gas sites in Alberta.

Mady Collier Centre Ltd. – Counsel to the monitor in the CCAA proceedings of Mady Collier Centre Ltd. Mady was the owner of a partially completed mixed-use development project located in Ontario, which included an 82-unit condominium building, street and mezzanine-level retail space, and an eight-storey commercial office tower.

Ladacor AMS Ltd. and Nomads Pipeline Consulting Ltd. – Counsel to the receiver in the receivership of Ladacor AMS Ltd. and Nomads Pipeline Consulting Ltd., a builder of commercial buildings using sea-can technology, that were under construction or near completion at the time of the receivership. One of the debtors’ subsidiaries was also the owner of a hotel located in Sioux Lookout, Ontario.

Walton Group of Companies – Counsel to certain secured lenders in the CCAA proceedings of the Walton Group of Companies in respect of various development LPs holding development lands in Alberta.

Reid-Built Group of Companies – Counsel to the secured lender in the receivership of the Reid-Built Group of Companies in respect of a development project in Edmonton, Alberta.

3 Eau Claire Developments Inc. – Counsel to the receiver, proposal trustee and bankruptcy trustee of 3 Eau Claire Developments Inc. with respect to certain development lands in Calgary, Alberta, for a mixed-use condominium project.

League Assets Group – Counsel to the secured lender in the CCAA proceedings of League Assets Group, which developed and managed many large-scale real estate properties across Canada.

UBG Builders Inc. – Counsel to the secured unitholders in the CCAA proceedings of UBG Builders Inc., a real estate development group overseeing various homebuilder companies throughout Alberta and in certain locations in the U.S.

Edgeworth Properties Inc. – Counsel to the monitor in the CCAA and receivership proceedings of Edgeworth Properties Inc., which developed certain properties in Alberta through investments and financing arrangements.

Deerfoot Court Investments – Counsel to the receiver of Deerfoot Court Investments with respect to the going-concern sale of a commercial office building in Calgary, Alberta.

Blackburn Developments Ltd. – Counsel to the debtor-in-possession (DIP) lender in the Blackburn Developments Ltd. CCAA proceedings. Blackburn was a real estate development company that undertook a very large residential real estate and golf course development project in British Columbia.

The Rosseau Resort Developments Inc. – Counsel to the secured lender/DIP lender and receiver in the receivership of The Rosseau Resort Developments Inc., a luxury condominium hotel, resort and spa.

Fairmont Resort Properties Ltd. – Counsel to the monitor in the CCAA proceedings of Fairmont Resort Properties Ltd., which was engaged in the resort and hospitality industry in Alberta, British Columbia and elsewhere and primarily engaged in the sale of timeshare interests in its resort properties.
