Tariffs, or import surtaxes, have become a significant topic of discussion in the past year. Canada conducted three separate public consultations about imposing tariffs on various goods imported from China, and rumblings from the United States suggest that tariffs may also be imposed on Canadian goods. In this seminar, our lawyers will discuss theoretical and practical aspects of tariffs, including compliance and dispute mechanisms, both national and international.
