Financial Services Associate - Structured Finance
The Structured Finance Group within the Financial Services Group at Blake, Cassels & Graydon LLP (Blakes) is growing. Blakes is widely regarded as the market leader for financial services, and we are looking for a Structured Finance/Financial Services Associate with two to four years of experience to join the Toronto office.
Blakes is recognized as having one of Canada’s largest and most active financial services practices, and a strong group of Structured Finance partners and associates. Our Structured Finance Group has market-leading experience, encompassing a wide array of transaction types and asset classes, including auto loans and leases, railcar leases, residential and commercial mortgage loans, credit cards and trade receivables, and whole-business securitizations. We work closely with clients to make these transactions successful, despite unique challenges that stem from Canada’s tax regime, commercial law and regulatory environment.
Our clients include domestic and foreign banks, insurance companies, credit unions, private equity sponsors, equipment manufacturers and lessors, consumer finance companies and fintechs. In addition to our significant work on domestic transactions, our team regularly advises leading U.S., European, Asian and other non-Canadian clients on structuring cross-border arrangements in compliance with Canada’s banking and tax legislation and other applicable Canadian laws.
