Blakes inSource Summer Student – Ottawa

Blakes inSource, a division of Blake, Cassels & Graydon LLP (Blakes), is seeking a summer student from the University of Ottawa to join our Ottawa office.  This will be a 12-week summer placement from May to August. 

This job is ideal for a student interested in exploring innovative legal service delivery, gaining hands-on experience with legal technology, and working across various practice areas, including corporate, litigation, cybersecurity and competition.   The Blakes inSource summer student will collaborate closely with a team of lawyers on tasks such as due diligence, contract review, transaction closings, and document review for litigation and cybersecurity matters. 

Requirements:

  • Student at the University of Ottawa Law School
  • First-year law student or second-year law student in a 4-year combined program 
  • Strong attention to detail and effective organization skills 
  • Aptitude for using and learning technology
  • Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team
