About Arash

Arash's practice focuses on mergers and acquisitions and private equity fund formation. In addition to transactional mandates, he provides real time strategic, corporate governance and risk management advice. His experience includes acting for Canadian and international private equity sponsors on a broad range of M&A matters; pension fund and institutional investors on private equity fund investments; and a broad base of Canadian and international businesses across industries on complex joint ventures, business structuring, and commercial matters.

Arash has a diverse portfolio of experience, and knowledge across sectors having assisted clients in the food, beverage and agribusiness, retail, health care, transportation, financial services, and information technology industries.

In addition, Arash has completed a secondment to one of the Firm's foreign investment banking clients, where he worked on a broad range of corporate and securities matters. Prior to joining Blakes, he worked as a management and strategy consultant with a global management consulting, technology services and outsourcing company.

Professional Activities

Arash provides advice to a number of not-for-profit and charitable organizations on a pro-bono basis, including Right to Play International, Connect Legal and Habitat for Humanity Canada.

Arash is a member of the Canadian Bar Association, the Ontario Bar Association, Young Canadians in Finance and an alumnus executive member of the Vancouver Bar Association. He is also a past director of Touchstone Theatre.

Arash is a sessional instructor at The Law Society of British Columbia's PLTC training program on mergers and acquisitions, as well as an adjunct instructor at the University of Victoria Law School (where he has taught Advanced Corporate Transactions).

Arash sits on the Firm's Recruitment Committee and Business Development Committee.
