About Dana

Dana's practice covers a broad range of corporate and commercial matters, including cross‑border and domestic mergers and acquisitions, corporate reorganizations, complex commercial transactions and the development of major power and infrastructure projects.

Dana has represented both domestic and international clients across various industries, including power and renewables, infrastructure, food and beverage, life sciences, financial services, gaming, and technology. Additionally, Dana has worked with government‑owned or regulated entities, as well as clients with operations that include government-owned assets, advising on regulatory and policy matters as they relate to private-sector commercial activities.

Dana’s corporate experience has been enhanced by her role as in-house counsel on secondment at a large retail service company, where she provided practical legal advice to senior leadership and various business units on corporate, commercial and operational matters. She also completed a secondment at a leading North American energy generator, where she was engaged in a variety of regulatory and commercial matters.

Dana is a member of the Corporate & Commercial group at Blakes, recognized in the 2025 edition of Chambers Canada as a Band 1 practice for M&A and Corporate & Commercial (the guide’s highest ranking), and as the top Corporate & Commercial practice in The Globe and Mail's 2025 edition of "Canada's Best Law Firms."

  • Fullsteam Operations LLC, a portfolio company of Aquiline Capital Partners, in multiple acquisitions of Canadian software and technology companies, including Silverware POS Inc.

  • Gemspring Capital Management in its acquisition of pipe, valve and fitting distributor Midland Industries

  • J.F. Lehman & Company on its sale of BEI Precision Systems & Space Company, Inc.

  • A leading beverage company in multiple acquisitions in the craft and ready-to-drink beverage spaces

  • Arjun Infrastructure Partners and Fengate Asset Management in their acquisition of the ONroute Service Centres

  • Pacific Equity Partners on its C$165-million divestiture of AST Investor Services Inc. (Canada) and AST Trust Company (Canada) to the TMX Group Limited

Major Projects & Infrastructure

  • The owner in relation to all aspects of the refurbishment of Pickering Nuclear Generating Station, a 2,000 MW nuclear generating station in Ontario

  • The owner on the development and operation of an Alberta wind farm, including with respect to turbine supply and balance of plant EPC

  • Various proponents with respect to the IESO’s Long-Term Procurement and Expedited Long-Term Procurement in Ontario, including concerning battery energy storage system supply

  • The successful proponent in achieving financial close on a C$5.7-billion project to design, build, finance and maintain the Gordie Howe International Bridge

Corporate & Commercial

  • A major automotive OEM in a global reorganization

  • A multinational bank in connection with multiple corporate reorganizations

  • A leading beverage company on its joint venture with a prominent cannabis company
