About Jamélie
Jamélie joined the Blakes team as a summer student in 2022 and is currently articling with the Firm.
She is a graduate of McGill University, where she earned a bachelor of arts in political science, a bachelor of civil law and a juris doctor.
As a law student, Jamélie was seconded to a major Canadian financial institution. She was also active in the legal community at McGill, serving as an editor at the McGill Law Journal and volunteering with the university’s Legal Information Clinic and Compass Startup Legal Clinic. At the latter, she provided Canadian entrepreneurs with legal information on various matters, including incorporation, company registration and intellectual property.
Before joining Blakes, Jamélie worked for a startup specializing in software for lawyers in Canada and the U.S. She also worked as a census worker among First Nations communities in the Côte-Nord and Nord-du-Québec regions.
Jamélie is fluent in English and French.
