About Jamie

Jamie practises corporate and securities law, with a focus on mergers and acquisitions (M&A), corporate finance and corporate governance.

Jamie advises clients on a wide range of public and private company transactions, including domestic and cross-border M&A transactions, public offerings, private financings and corporate reorganizations. She regularly assists clients in various industries with general corporate and securities law matters, including corporate governance, securities regulatory compliance, stock exchange matters, negotiation of commercial agreements and general corporate law. 

Jamie joined Blakes as a summer student in 2020 and completed her articles with the Firm in 2022.

  • Equinox Gold Corp. on its acquisition of 40% of the Greenstone Mine for US$995-million and the associated US$300-million bought deal equity offering and US$500-million debt facility

  • Canadian counsel to I Squared Capital, and its portfolio company, TIP Canada, in its sale to Star Leasing to form the Transportation Equipment Network, North America's second largest full-service trailer leasing company

  • Indochino Apparel Inc., an innovative men's apparel company, on its strategic investments by Mitsui & Co. and Dayang Group, as well as investments by Madrona Venture Capital and Porchlight Equity Management

  • Arctic Canadian Diamond Company on the sale of Arctic Canadian Diamond Company, including the sale of its Ekati Diamond Mine, to Burgundy Diamond Mines Ltd. for approximately US$136-million

  • An aviation company on the sale of its manufacturing assets to a US based company

  • Neovasc Inc. on its acquisition by Shockwave Medical for approximately US$100-million

  • Josemaria Inc. on its C$625-million acquisition by Lundin Mining Corporation

  • Gold Standard Ventures Corp. on its acquisition by Orla Mining Ltd. for C$240-million

  • Mama Earth Organics Inc., a subscription service for organic produce and grocery delivery, on the sale of all of its issued and outstanding shares to Fresh City Farms, Inc., an urban farm and organic online retailer in Ontario, Canada

  • Timber Investments Ltd. on its acquisition of an interest in Columbia Containers Ltd., a container terminal operator in Vancouver, Canada, from Providence Grain Group

  • Equinox Gold Corp. on the US$172.5-million bought deal private placement of unsecured convertible senior notes

  • Sabina Gold & Silver Corp. on its offering of US$95-million of common shares in connection with its financing package of US$520-million financing
