About Jerred

Jerred's practice focuses on all areas of corporate/commercial litigation and dispute resolution. He has experience in various areas including civil arbitration and mediation, construction litigation, contractual disputes, shareholder disputes and activist initiatives, claims for relief from oppression, and civil liability for misrepresentations.

Prior to joining Blakes, Jerred clerked for the judges of the Superior Court of Justice (Toronto), before completing an LLM at Harvard Law School. He then practised as an associate at another leading Canadian law firm.

Select Experience

Representative matters in which Jerred has been involved include:

  • Successfully representing the special committee of the board of directors of a public company in a high-profile activist shareholder dispute

  • Assisting in the representation of an activist shareholder in oppression proceedings against a public company

  • Assisting in the representation of an international pharmaceutical company in civil mediation and arbitration proceedings against a publicly traded pharmaceutical company

  • Assisting in the representation of a subcontractor in a dispute with a general contractor concerning project delay

  • Assisting in the representation of an international restructuring company in proceedings against a former construction project manager

Professional Activities

Jerred is a member of the Law Society of Alberta, the Law Society of Ontario, the Canadian Bar Association, and the Advocates' Society.
