About John

John’s practice covers various aspects of civil and commercial law, with a focus on class actions, civil liability, and constitutional, regulatory and administrative law. He also has experience with extraordinary proceedings, such as injunctions and seizures.

In his practice, John represents and advises Canadian and foreign clients, including real estate developers, insurers and manufacturers of consumer products and industrial equipment. He also acts for local companies and public bodies.

Before joining Blakes, John practised at a renowned boutique law firm in Montréal, where he specialized in litigation. He also completed a clerkship at the Quebec Court of Appeal in the city of Québec.

John is fluent in English and French and has a working knowledge of Arabic.

Professional Activities

John is a member of the Canadian Bar Association, the Young Bar Association of Montréal and The Advocates’ Society.

From 2020 to 2022, he worked at the Quebec Court of Appeal as legal research counsel.
