Dual-qualified in Ontario and New York, Jules brings a breadth of specialized expertise and unique cross-border perspective to his practice, representing a diverse range of clients, including debtors, monitors, receivers, secured creditors, debtor-in-possession lenders, suppliers, lessors, unions, and pension plans, in both formal insolvency proceedings and out-of-court restructurings across multiple jurisdictions.
Having spent a number of years practising in the alternative investments practice of a leading New York-based international law firm, Jules has significant experience in complex secured transactions, securitization, exempt market private placements and cross-border financial transactions, enhancing his ability to bring value to and manage a wide range of complex financial restructurings and insolvencies involving multiple jurisdictions.
In addition, Jules has specialized expertise in navigating the complexities of pension and employee benefits issues that arise in commercial insolvencies and restructurings. His deep understanding of these niche issues enables him to offer strategic and actionable solutions to clients managing pension liabilities, employee benefit claims, and employment-related concerns in distressed situations.
