About Tracy
Tracy’s practice is focused on the financial services industry. She has extensive experience with payments law and new payments technology, bank regulatory and policy matters, anti-money laundering, and consumer protection issues. Tracy has particular interest in the regulation of retail payments as well as FinTech, PayTech, and other innovative technologies, including blockchain, NFTs and cryptocurrency. Her combination of private sector, in-house, and regulatory experience allows her to offer practical, strategic advice to clients that minimizes legal risk while enabling them to achieve their business objectives.
Prior to joining Blakes, Tracy worked as counsel at an international law firm, and as a director at Payments Canada, where she supported ongoing efforts to modernize Canada’s national payments systems, as well as legal and policy frameworks. She has also worked as senior counsel at a major Canadian financial institution.
