About Marc

Marc's practice focuses on a variety of capital markets transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, public offerings and private placements of securities. He also advises clients on corporate governance and securities regulatory matters, including the continuous disclosure obligations of public issuers.

Prior to joining Blakes, Marc summered, articled and practised with the Toronto office of an international law firm.

  • Advising AstraZeneca Inc. in connection with its acquisition of Fusion Pharmaceuticals

  • Primaris Real Estate Investment Trust in connection with its acquisitions of Conestoga Mall, Halifax Shopping Centre and Annex and Les Galeries de la Capitale shopping mall

  • ABC Technologies Holdings in connection with its take-private transaction led by Apollo Global and Oaktree Capital

  • Northview Fund on its recapitalization transaction that included the acquisition of three multi-family property portfolios for C$742-million and its conversion into Northview Residential REIT, a C$2.7-billion, internally managed, transitional open-ended real estate investment trust focused on national multi-family properties

  • ABC Technologies Holdings in connection with its acquisition of Windsor Mold Group Technologies

  • Danaher corporation in connection with its acquisition of Tilia Labs

  • Pacific Woodtech Corporation on its acquisition of Louisiana-Pacific Corporation's Engineered Wood Products business

  • Penn National Gaming, Inc. in its US$2-billion acquisition of Score Media and Gaming, Inc., creating a leading North American digital sports content, gaming and technology company

  • WPT Industrial REIT in connection with its US$3.1-billion acquisition by Blackstone REIT

  • H&R REIT on its spin-off of its Primaris properties, including all of H&R's enclosed malls, to a new stand-alone, publicly traded REIT

  • Electrical Components International, Inc. on the acquisition of all of the issued and outstanding shares of BHC Cable Assemblies Inc.

  • Primaris Real Estate Investment Trust in connection with its C$74.7-million bought deal treasury and secondary public offering of trust units

  • Underwriters on an offering of C$144-million of common shares of Sienna Senior Living Inc.

  • Underwriters on an offering of C$251-million of trust units of Boardwalk REIT

  • Medexus Pharmaceuticals Inc. in connection with a bought deal public offering of units for aggregate gross proceeds of over C$11.5-million

  • CI Financial Corp. on its shelf prospectus and issuance of C$400-million of 7.00% Debentures due 2025

  • Primaris Real Estate Investment Trust in connection with its inaugural private placement of senior unsecured debentures and subsequent offerings, for an aggregate principal amount of C$1.5-billion
