About Peter

Peter practises corporate and commercial litigation with a focus on complex commercial disputes and restructuring and insolvency matters. His restructuring and insolvency practice involves advising debtor companies, lender syndicates, secured and unsecured creditors, purchasers of distressed assets, debtor-in-possession lenders, and other parties affected by business insolvency issues.

Peter has also acted as independent counsel for monitors in reorganization cases under the Companies' Creditors Arrangement Act, trustees appointed under the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act, as well as Court-appointed receivers.

Restructuring & Insolvency

  • Access Road Capital LLC in the cross-border restructuring proceedings of the BRON Group of companies

  • Dominion Diamond Mines in respect of its filing under the CCAA and the reorganization of its C$1-billion debt

  • Carillion Canada, the Canadian subsidiary of Carillion plc, one of Canada's largest integrated construction support services and facilities management enterprises based in Ontario, in its CCAA proceedings

  • Various publicly traded mining companies in relation to restructuring and insolvency advice and proceedings

  • Various lenders in enforcement and restructuring proceedings

Commercial Litigation

  • A Canadian real estate company with assets around the globe in relation to a large real estate development in British Columbia and associated litigation

  • Various clients in arbitrations involving the construction of energy infrastructure

  • A consulting and development firm in an arbitration involving the design and implementation of a cloud-based technology application

  • A British Columbia-based casual dining restaurant chain with respect to claims against a construction contractor and various design professionals relating to construction defects

  • A leading Western Canada university, defending a claim by a general contractor, subcontractor and supplier in connection with the replacement of a university facility
