About Jenny

Jenny has nearly 25 years of experience in commercial real estate, having worked for major law firms and with institutional investors, including as Vice President, Legal Affairs, Investments, of a Canadian-based global real estate leader. In this capacity, she has been instrumental in nearly a hundred major transactions totalling approximately $80-billion.

She advises clients on real estate law matters in a broad range of areas, including acquisitions and sales, mortgage financing and development, joint ventures, corporate and commercial law, mergers and acquisitions, and debt and equity financing, as well as regulatory compliance, ethics and governance issues.

Jenny also has extensive experience in cross-border real estate transactions in the United States, Mexico, Brazil, Europe, India, Asia and Australia. She is known for her keen business sense, in-depth knowledge of strategic and operational issues facing real estate companies, creative problem-solving skills, and ability to recognize and understand nuances between markets.

Jenny is fluent in English and French.

Select Experience

Recent representative matters include advising:

  • A major global institutional investor in the real estate sector on its US$3.6-billion acquisition of a portfolio of 30 multifamily residential properties located in 12 different states in the U.S., as well as the subsequent syndication of a 50% interest in that portfolio to two sovereign wealth funds

  • A major owner-operator of shopping centres in Canada in connection with the outsourcing of the management and operation of a portfolio of 20 regional centres across Canada

  • A leading global institutional investor in the real estate sector on its US$3.5-billion acquisition of a vertically integrated company specializing in investment and project management and operating logistics properties in the U.S., as well as the subsequent syndication of a 50% interest in that investment to another institutional investor in the real estate sector

  • A leading global institutional investor in the real estate sector with respect to the development of various real estate investments in Mexico, Brazil, India, China, Southeast Asia and Australia

  • A major global institutional investor in the real estate sector on the acquisition of a 50% interest in a company specializing in investment, project and real estate management in Mexico

  • A leading global institutional investor in the real estate sector in connection with an agreed takeover and privatization transaction, in partnership with a major global fund manager, of a TSX-listed REIT involved in the logistics sector

  • A major global institutional investor in the real estate sector on the C$1-billion acquisition of an 80% interest in a logistics property portfolio in Brazil and the related joint venture with a global owner-operator of logistics properties

  • A major global institutional investor in the real estate sector as part of its acquisition of several multifamily residential properties located in Prime Central London (U.K.)

Jenny is an ambassador for Éducaloi’s fundraising campaign, 500 jours pour la justice. She is also a director and chair of the Les Petits Chanteurs de Laval.

Jenny was a lecturer at the Université de Sherbrooke's Faculty of Law and served as a director of the Lindsay Memorial Foundation.
