About Cameron

Cameron's practice focuses primarily on banking, debt financing, commercial lending and related transactions. He has experience acting on secured and unsecured debt financing transactions, syndicated and bilateral loan transactions, project financings, acquisition financings, cross-border financings, asset-based lending transactions, corporate reorganizations and private placements.

Cameron acts regularly on behalf of both financial institutions and corporations in respect of a variety of debt financing transactions. He works primarily in the energy, renewable power, oil and gas, and related services industries.

Select Experience

Recent representative matters include acting as lead counsel or as part of the Blakes Financial Services group for:

  • Capstone Infrastructure Corporation and certain of its subsidiaries on various credit arrangements, including:

    • C$220-million corporate revolving credit facility provided to Capstone Power Corp.

    • C$65-million project financing with ATB Financial, as lender, in respect of its 68 MW Buffalo Atlee Wind Project in Special Areas Board No. 2, Alberta

    • C$96-million project financing for SWNS Wind LP in connection with the acquisition of four wind farms totaling 29 MW in Ontario

    • C$95-million project refinancing for Helios Solar Star A-1 LP in respect of its 20 MW Amherstburg solar power facilities by way of term debt in the amount of C$121-million

    • C$83-million credit facilities provided to Cardinal Power of Canada, L.P. to refinance its 156 MW natural gas cogeneration facility in Ontario

  • BluEarth Renewables and certain of its subsidiaries on various credit arrangements, including:

    • C$200-million corporate revolving credit facility

    • Acquisition and C$51-million project financing in respect of its 23 MW Suffield solar project in Cypress County, Alberta

    • Acquisition and C$23-million project financing in respect of its 23 MW Hays solar project in the Municipal District of Taber, Alberta

    • Acquisition and C$24-million project financing in respect of its 23 MW Jenner solar project in Special Areas Board No. 2, Alberta

    • C$73-million, C$66-million and C$48-million portfolio project financings in connection with the refinancing of its 10 MW Solar Spirit solar project, 30 MW Lights solar projects and 8.5 MW Little Creek solar project in Ontario

    • C$156-million project refinancing in respect of its 22 MW Clowhom River and 22 MW Dasque-Middle Creek hydro facilities in British Columbia

    • C$102-million refinancing in respect of its 15 MW Culliton Creek hydro power facility in British Columbia

    • C$32-million refinancing in respect of its 9.3 MW Tyson Creek hydro power facility in British Columbia

  • Nutrien Ltd. in respect of its US$4.5-billion unsecured syndicated revolving credit facility and its other Canadian and international financing arrangements

  • The Calgary Airport Authority in its C$2.075-billion bond issuance, bond exchange and related credit facilities

  • The lead arrangers in respect of a $700-million sustainability-linked syndicated revolving credit facility and $260-million term credit facility in favour of Tamarack Valley Energy Ltd. in connection with the acquisition of Deltastream Energy Corporation

  • Enerplus Corporation in respect of its:

    • US$900-million senior unsecured sustainability-linked revolving credit facility

    • US$365-million senior unsecured sustainability-linked revolving credit facility

    • Issuance of notes in the aggregate amount of US$200-million on a private placement basis

  • AirSprint Inc. in respect of its US$80-million syndicated credit facility

  • Western Energy Services Corp. in respect of its senior credit facilities in the amount of C$80-million and second lien credit facility in the amount of C$210-million

  • Trinidad Drilling Ltd. on its Canadian and US-based credit facilities in the aggregate amount of C$400-million

  • Various Canadian and foreign lending institutions in connection with syndicated and bilateral financings ranging in size from C$2-million to C$1-billion
