About Chris

Chris has been practising in the area of corporate tax planning for 10 years. He primarily advises clients on the tax aspects of mergers and acquisitions, corporate reorganizations, and cross-border transactions. He also has experience with tax dispute resolution and tax litigation.

Before joining Blakes, Chris was counsel at another large Canadian law firm. Prior to that, he was an associate at a boutique tax law firm affiliated with a global accounting firm.

  • Sokanu Interactive on its acquisition by Penn Foster

  • Purpose Financial on its C$53.5-million investment by Allianz X

  • Verafin on its US$2.75-billion acquisition by Nasdaq

  • IBM on its spinoff of Kyndryl
