About Saeid

Saeid practises corporate and commercial litigation with a focus on complex administrative law, privacy and access to information issues. His privacy practice involves advising clients in a range of industries, including energy, technology, sport and entertainment.

Saeid also has experience in areas such as civil arbitration and mediation, contractual disputes, and employment litigation. As part of his general litigation practice, he advises clients in banking, construction, oil and gas, mining, infrastructure, and farming sectors.

Saeid has appeared before both the Supreme Court of British Columbia and the Court of King’s Bench in Alberta.

Select Experience

Recent matters in which Saeid has been involved include acting for:

  • Suncor Energy Inc. on its C$1-billion acquisition of an additional 21.3% working interest in the Fort Hills Project from Teck Resources Limited (decision reported in 2023 ABKB 59)

  • A multimillion-dollar arbitration in a construction dispute between a municipality and project consultants

  • A major investing banking and financial services company in a multimillion-dollar employment litigation

  • A major energy company in its multibillion-dollar arbitration involving claims in connection with the construction of significant energy infrastructure

  • A farming company in a multimillion-dollar arbitration concerning contractual disputes

  • A mining company in a litigation matter involving claims of breach of contract and wrongful dismissal

Saeid is a member of the Law Society of Alberta, the Law Society of British Columbia, the Canadian Bar Association, the Vancouver Bar Association and The Advocates' Society.
