About Soheila
Soheila joins Blakes as a 2024 Articled Student. She has several years of experience in international arbitration and dispute resolution. She holds an LLM from Yale Law School and a PhD in international law from a top university in Iran.
Soheila's career has taken her across multiple jurisdictions, including The Hague, where she contributed to international organizations, including the Permanent Court of Arbitration and the Iran-United States Claims Tribunal. She has advised on state-to-state disputes as well as international investment and commercial arbitration. She also led the development of training resources at an international arbitration database company in Canada.
As a law student, Soheila was honoured as "best oralist" and her team won the national Iranian rounds of the Philip C. Jessup international law moot court competition. She obtained her bachelor of laws with distinction in Iran.
Prior to joining Blakes, Soheila achieved Canadian equivalency by obtaining an LLM in common law at the University of British Columbia.
