About Troy

Troy practises in the area of corporate and commercial law with a focus on mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance, procurement, and complex commercial transactions relating to technology.

He regularly advises clients on the procurement, distribution, outsourcing and repatriation of technology and related services, often in a multi-vendor or shared-service context. He also regularly advises on venture and private equity financings and the purchase and sale of private businesses, often with a cross-border component.

Prior to joining Blakes, Troy practised in-house as well as in the business law group of another leading national law firm.

Recent representative matters include acting for:

  • A large retail company in the complete outsourcing of its online operations

  • A broad range of technology companies and U.S. venture capital investors in multiple cross-border financings

  • A global energy company in the outsourcing and licensing of its IT services to multiple vendors in multiple jurisdictions

  • A device manufacturer in connection with its acquisition of a software company focused on open source products

  • A Crown corporation in connection with the design, build and implementation of a title registry
