About Bob

Bob's practice focuses on corporate finance and mergers and acquisitions. He advises public and private companies as well as financial institutions. Bob has extensive expertise in advising on take-over and issuer bids and private equity financings, and as independent counsel to boards of directors.

Bob is the former chair of the Firm's Compensation Committee.

  • Fission Uranium Corp. in connection with its proposed $1.1-billion acquisition by Paladin Energy

  • Equinox Gold Corp. in connection with its acquisition of 40% of the Greenstone Mine for US$995-million and the associated US$300-million bought deal equity offering and US$500-million debt facility

  • Sabina Gold & Silver Corp. in connection with its acquisition by B2Gold Corp. for C$1.1-billion

  • Pretium Resources Inc. in connection with its acquisition by Newcrest Mining for C$3.5-billion

  • Capstone Mining Corp. in connection with its C$1.1-billion business combination with Mantos Copper

  • Great Bear Resources Ltd. in connection with its acquisition by Kinross Gold Corporation for C$1.8-billion and Great Bear Royalties Corp. in connection with its acquisition by Royal Gold for C$200-million

  • Nevsun Resources in connection with the C$1.4-billion takeover bid by Lundin Mining which resulted in a friendly agreement with Zijin Mining to acquire Nevsun for C$1.8-billion

  • Maverix Metals Inc. in connection with its acquisition by Triple Flag Precious Metals Corp. for C$700-million

  • Gold Standard Ventures Corp. in connection with its acquisition by Orla Mining Ltd. for C$240-million

  • Ascot Resources Ltd. in connection with its C$200-million financing by Sprott Streaming and Ccori Apu

  • Atlantic Gold in connection with the acquisition by St. Barbara for C$802-million

  • The Special Committee of Alterra Power Corp. in connection with its C$1.1-billion acquisition by Innergex Renewable Energy Inc.

  • Artemis Gold in connection with its acquisition of the Blackwater project from New Gold and the associated C$175-million offering of common shares

  • Seabridge Gold Inc. in connection with its US$225-million note to Sprott Resource and Ontario Teachers Pension Plan which is convertible into a silver royalty

  • Aurizon Mines Ltd. in connection with the hostile take-over bid by Alamos Gold Inc., which became a C$796-million friendly acquisition of Aurizon by Hecla Mining Company

  • Equinox Gold in connection with its C$1.3-billion merger of equals with Leagold and its C$700-million acquisition of Premier Gold

  • The Special Committee of Coastal Contacts Inc. in connection with its acquisition by Essilor International SA for C$435-million

  • The Special Committee of Hathor Exploration Limited in connection with the hostile take-over bid by Cameco Corp., which, after an auction, resulted in a friendly acquisition by Rio Tinto for C$654-million

  • Galenica SA in connection with its US$915-million acquisition of Aspreva Pharmaceuticals Corporation

Awards & Recognition
