About Zubair
Zubair's practice focuses on financial services in the areas of banking and commercial financing, including structured finance, asset-based lending, debt financing, acquisition financing, cross-border financing, and related transactional work.
Before joining Blakes, Zubair worked as vice president of legal at one of Canada's leading alternative credit providers. As the organization's sole in-house lawyer, Zubair gained invaluable experience with respect to transaction structuring, regulatory compliance, corporate governance, employment, and bankruptcy and insolvency. He has experience negotiating a variety of complex corporate commercial documents and navigating U.S. and Canadian regulatory matters. Prior to his tenure at this organization, Zubair worked as an associate at a Calgary based law firm.
