About Brady

Brady practises litigation and international arbitration, with specialist expertise in international trade law. Brady has represented clients at the Canadian International Trade Tribunal, the Federal Court of Canada, the International Court of Arbitration and other arbitral tribunals, and all levels of court in British Columbia. His focus is on cross-border disputes, cross-border regulatory controversy, trade remedies, contractual disputes, public and administrative law, and complex international trade and sanctions issues.

Brady has a PhD in law from Trinity College, the University of Dublin, and is a former adjunct professor at the University of British Columbia.

Brady currently sits on the Executive of the Canadian Bar Association International Law Section, and the Export Committee of the Canadian Association of Importers and Exporters.

Professional Activities

Brady is an associate member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators. Brady also serves on the Executive of the Canadian Bar Association International Law Section, as well as the Export Committee of the Canadian Association of Importers and Exporters. Brady is also a member of the Vancouver Bar Association, Young Canadian Arbitration Practitioners, the Centre for European Legal Studies, and the Irish Society for European Law.

Brady frequently publishes in his areas of expertise. He is the author of The Constitutional Boundaries of European Fiscal Federalism (Cambridge University Press, 2022) and has written articles on international topics for leading academic journals, including the European Law Review and the European Investment Law and Arbitration Review.

Brady is a former adjunct professor at the Peter A. Allard School of Law at the University of British Columbia (UBC). He has also been a guest lecturer in international trade law at UBC, and a moot coach for UBC's and UVic's Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot teams.
