About Marie

Marie maintains a broad civil litigation and dispute resolution practice. She has acted for clients in complex commercial disputes, commercial arbitrations, restructuring and insolvency matters, and administrative law matters. Marie has appeared as counsel before all levels of court in British Columbia, and acted as counsel in matters before the Supreme Court of Canada. She also represents clients in proceedings before administrative boards and tribunals.

Select Experience

Marie’s recent representative experience includes:

  • Acting as arbitration counsel to an owner in respect of a C$1-billion ICC arbitration claim regarding pipeline construction

  • Acting as litigation counsel to employers in respect of a civil disputes regarding a former employees' fraudulent activity

  • Participating in class action defence teams in negligence and competition/antitrust claims

  • Advising clients on environmental and permitting matters

  • Acting as appellate counsel in an acquisition dispute between public mining companies concerning breach of contract and misrepresentation claims

Professional Activities

Marie is a member of the Law Society of British Columbia, the Law Society of Alberta, the Canadian Bar Association, the Vancouver Bar Association, The Advocates' Society, and the Federation of Asian Canadian Lawyers.
