About Laura
Laura's practice focuses on the marketing and advertising of pharmaceutical, medical device, food and consumer, and other regulated products.
Laura advises clients on regulatory issues arising under Canadian legislation, including licensing, labelling, recalls and other product safety issues, with respect to drugs, medical devices (including software), natural health products, cosmetics, consumer products and food.
In the medical products space, she provides advice regarding clinical trial agreements, health care compliance and practice codes, promotional programs, advertising, product claims, manufacturing and distribution agreements, and consulting and advisory board agreements.
Laura also advises on all aspects of advertising campaigns in support of current products and new product launches, including advertising and influencer marketing policies. She has experience in reviewing various product claims, including nutrition, health, natural, organic, environmental and packaging claims under the Competition Act and other more specialized legislation and codes. She also advises clients on comparative advertising and assessing the risks related to such claims in relation to food, consumer, cosmetic and other regulated products.
Laura has experience in health care compliance matters involving health-care businesses and facilities and regulated health professionals. She helps businesses navigate the unique challenges surrounding provincial college regulatory bodies, ownership requirements, conflicts of interest, telemedicine, professional misconduct and other health care compliance concerns.
